The SLIDE Squad Concept |
||||||
ICS SLIDE Schedulers work, side by side, with the client's own scheduling department. For the most part, the SLIDE Scheduler deals with the field personnel in development the schedule's overall design, infrastructure and logic ... and the scheduling department handles the automation and physical production of the schedule. What follows is a brief description of how a typical schedule is developed using the ICS SLIDE Squad. |

| Observations About Using an ICS SLIDE Scheduler | ||||||
| The ICS SLIDE Scheduler spares the Scheduling Manager the daily burden of working through the details of the Project Schedule's design, as conceived by the Project Team. The Scheduling Manager is free to focus on other responsibilities, entrusting schedule content development to the SLIDE Scheduler. However, mechanical or technical aspects of schedule development are handled by the in-house Scheduling Department, presumed to be staffed by junior-level and intermediate-level schedulers. Involvement of the Scheduling Manager at various times through the above process serves to ensure a smooth handoff toward the end of the process. | ||||||
Obviously, the above 20-Step Scenario envisions a Scheduiling Department headed by a Scheduling Manager. In organizations where there are no in-house schedulers or scheduling managers, per se, the SLIDE Scheduler tends to assume an advisory or mentoring relationship with the Project Manager, who typically lacks the expertise in scheduling possessed by the SLIDE Scheduler. |
