Just What the Scheduling Practice Has Needed
Why ICS?

For some, the mere thought of yet another organization promising to do wonderful things for the Scheduling Practice inspires less than unbridled enthusiasm. "Great!. Just what we need! Someone else with an opinion about how things ought to be!"

But we created ICS because the Scheduling Practice really does need a comprehensive, unique, out-of-the-box response to the many ailments within our discipline. The Scheduling Practice suffers from, more than anything else, a lack of fresh ideas. Its chief custodians have approached each new day the way they approached all the previous ones. In the end, little of substance changes. Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result.

As you will see when you peruse these pages, ICS is delightfully fresh in two significant ways:

 

Individually: At the micro level, each ICS Component was initially approached as a 'blank page,' with an open-mindedness to new ways of doing the same old things. The results are ICS Divisions seasoned with a daring splash of radical thinking.

 
Collectively: At the macro level, ICS adopts a comprehensive/holistic view in its treatment of the ills of the Scheduling Practice, believing that projects and their management involve processes that are interdependent and therefore cannot be addressed separately or randomly.
Throughout strategic and developmental planning sessions, we stubbornly adhered to thinking outside the box. The result is that ICS has approached each undertaking with tactics and philosophies, many virtually unheard of before now. While we are admittedly biased, we happen to think that ICS is "just what the Scheduling Practice has needed."
